MEMORIES OF SHOREHAM CHOIR 1957-75
A Talk by MALCOLM JORDAN

John Jordan spoke to the Society on 18th May remembering his brother John Jordan, who was for many years choirmaster and organist at Shoreham Church.

Many in the audience remembered John from their association with the choir in the 1950' & 60' and were delighted to see themselves or those they knew immortalised on a film made by John.

Malcolm remembered some of the characters that were around at that time including Lewis & Jean Feldman and Stanley & Margaret White, who were his close neighbours, he also showed some pictures of Shoreham in the 1960's taken by John.

John his mother and brother used to enjoy their visits to Shoreham from their home in Peckham and then they moved to live at Darenth Hulme Cottage Shoreham. John died in 1984 at the age of only 58.

A trust has been founded in John's memory offering financial help to disadvantaged young people who are interested in the arts.
